Shooting Independence Square with Sarah Rimel

When I’m not having fun shooting portraits for clients…I’m having fun shooting things and places for myself.  Recently I had the chance to hang out with my good friend and talented Kansas City photographer, Sarah Rimel.  We had lunch at one of the most delicious restaurants I’ve had the pleasure of visiting, Cafe Verona, and then off to explore the Historic Independence square.  It was a very relaxing day.

Wiiiinnnnndddddyyyyyy

Sarah pointed out that there was actually an address of 215 and a half.  Interesting.

We like to shoot each other.

Hello puddle.

I pretty much walked up to this chair and said “hey…um…I saw you from across the room…wanna come over to my place?”  hahaha  Seriously, it was love at first sight.  I really really want this chair.

Have you ever imagined doing something in your head and though “yea…I can totally do that…” …and then realize, “um…nope.  I can’t.”  Well…I saw this sign…and most people know I have a thing for signs…and thought it would make a neat picture with my friend if I could pose doing a hand stand next to her standing upright.  With our cameras set on self-timers, we set out to try and accomplish this craziness.  This was the first attempt…although it looks more like I’m trying out for a stripper club….(Sarah, you’re my first customer, hehe)

So when that didn’t work, Sarah offered to try and help me up.  But between my inability to kick my legs up high enough, and my drum sticks weighing a bit more than Sarah can raise on her own…it was a fail.

We end up settling for a frontward/backward pose instead. hahahahahahahaha  It was worth a try if for nothing else than laughing really hard and entertaining the people passing by.

It was a very good day.  Can’t wait for the next time.
