The McDonnell Family!!!

Who’s the cutest boy in the world????
Jase
(I know I’m probably completely wrong on the spelling…Amanda, please let me know)
This kid DEFINITELY belongs on the cover of some high-end magazine! He has “The Look”.
Meet the McDonnell Family. We had a perfect session on this perfect evening. We originally had scheduled it for last Thursday but at the last minute decided it was a little too gloomy outside with a storm on the way. I’m glad we waited.

We went to Antioch Park…which is just perfect for a photo session. Very scenic and has lots of different areas to wonder about.
Onward March!

I love evening light, don’t you?!
A little play time…
…and A LOT of love.
Andrew & Amanda, thanks for having me out tonight! Can’t wait to show you the rest!

LET THE GAMES BEGIN! 🙂

Congratulations Randi & Scott!!!

On the road again, and this week’s destination wedding was in Marion, KS (a three hour car ride…ek!). A small town where the Bride has fond memories of childhood and sentimental value to the church where she took her vows. We didn’t get a chance to photograph around town…but MAN did I want to! That little town had brick roads, awesome fire-escapes, narrow alleys, and lots of character.

I LOVE THESE Wedding flip-flops!

Sooooo…I’ve never been much for hunting or stuffed heads on walls, but if you’re gonna have one, might as well keep it festive like this one.
Randi and Scott didn’t see each other before the ceremony, but that didn’t stop us front getting some shots of them together. 🙂 I just had to keep the groom looking forward.

A little on the dangerous side…getting all these guys to balance on one leg standing on a narrow wall. Anything for the Captain, eh?

Beautiful.

This is my little flower girl from the last wedding! She is too adorable!
Their reception was at the country club golf course in town….so we thought we’d play a little.

Perfect Taste!
Thanks Randi & Scott for letting me have my way with you! And a special thanks for the delicious plate of food for the long ride home. I’m afraid I didn’t get to eat it though. Right after I pulled away from the country club a deer darted out in front of me, I SLAMMED on the brakes, and my plate went flying across my passanger seat. 🙁 Just my luck. Right at that moment I thought how nice it would have been to see that deer’s head on a wall. Seriously, deer must have suicidal tendencies…they were all along the road (living and dead) all the way home. I was so afraid to blink that by the time I got home my eyes were stuck open. hehehe
Have fun in Chicago you two!

Summer Prize Games…You know you want to WIN!

A couple weeks ago, as I was filling up my car at a gas station…I spaced out as I watched the price roll upwards, exceeding any maximum I’d ever hit. “OUCH!”…I thought. As a practical and responsible person, I began thinking of ways to cut back on my budget to compensate for the rising cost of car travel. Things like going out to eat and going to the movies were obvious, but there are more things considered to be luxury to cut back on as well.
Many who know me well, know that I became a diligent photographer when my son was born and I started to realize I couldn’t remember all the precious moments I was experiencing. Being very visual, I would see flashes of an image in my head but couldn’t quite pull the whole memory out. The mind is a strange place. My pictures would help to develop the memory and trigger other senses…like what smelled good on the BBQ or what the blanket felt like. It was a comfort to have the photography to piece together the memories.

Therefore, for me, photography is not a luxury. It is a key to unlock my memories of my life and the people I hold dear. The pictures I hang on my walls are as much for me to look at as any one else who enters. There is a large framed picture of my little family right next to the front door…as if to say, “hey…slow down, take a look at this…remember to enjoy the ride.”

So…blah blah blah…I know…sorry. I just wanted to do something fun this summer and offer my clients a chance to win something that might mean a little more than free concert tickets or a tank of gas.

THE GAME:
Each week I will post the question or contest to my blog at a random day/time (so be on the lookout). The prize will be listed but may change from week to week. Some weeks there will be only one winner, other weeks there might be a chance for multiple winners. Each entry throughout the whole summer will be entered into a GRAND FINALE prize.

THE RULES:
Each household is limited to 2 wins per 4 weeks. The game is intended for new or existing clients (close friends and family…you already have a sweet deal ;). Prizes will be issued upon availability and will expire 180 days after win. Please keep things respectful as this is meant to be fun.

If you have any questions, contact me at christinemay@sbcglobal.net .
