Vic & Amanda Engagement

This is Vic & Amanda and they are absolute TROOPERS! We met just a couple of weeks ago for a wedding consultation and they mentioned they were interested in having winter-time engagement pictures for Save-the-date/Holiday cards. And as luck would have it…we have plenty of winter-time around lately….but MAN! Was it COLD! We had an amazing session for (surprisingly) an hour in below freezing weather…the pictures turned out great though!
This next one was my little experiement for the session. I left this one at a large resolution, so you should be able to click on the image to have it enlarged on your screen. This was my first try at adding digital snow to the image. I think it turned out quite nicely, if I do say so myself.
Did I mention I LOVE red! Their clothes really bring out their red-hot love in the picture.
So sweet!
This was one of my favorites of the indoor session.
Despite the extreme weather conditions, their engagement session resulted in some fantastic pictures…well worth the frozen limbs.
Thanks Amanda & Vic! I’m so glad you share my crazy-passion to do what it takes to get the shot. I’ll be seeing you again in the warm month of May.

CONGRATULATIONS, Mr. & Mrs. Crabbs!!!!

I am proud to announce Mr. & Mrs. Crabbs! This is one solid couple. I can sum up their characters in one word: Genuine.
The morning of the wedding, Samantha received a beautiful boquet of roses and the sweetest little note from her future husband. I have to share…it read: “Samantha, Not only today will I marry my best friend, but I will marry the love of my life. See you at 4. Don’t run. Love Scott.”
That has to be the sweetest thing I have seen a groom say yet! Especially the “Don’t run” part. 🙂

I love her white winter cape. It is so fitting.
Their first dance. I spent the whole day with them, but I could tell in 5 minutes they are truly best friends.

The mood lighting. They are so light-hearted…you can’t help but be in a good mood around them.
This brave fellow won the auction to be the first guest to dance with the bride during the dollar dance. A cool $300!
And we can’t forget the poor father of the bride. It was his birthday and everyone made sure to give him special attention.
Thank you Samatha and Scott! It was such a pleasure to hang out with you, your family, and friends. You both are headed for great times ahead! Have fun in Maui!

CONGRATULATIONS, MR. & MRS. SCOTT!

Congratulations to Tom & Lacey! While the rest of the world was battling the shopping chaos on Friday, they were beginning their “happily ever after” as husband & wife. Their ceremony and reception were at the lovely Loose Mansion.
This first picture is actually from the rehearsal, but I just couldn’t leave it out. Too funny!
Check it out…they had their engagment pictures (we took a few months ago) scattered EVERYWHERE around the mansion…it was like my own personal gallery!
And they had this beautiful waterfall shot enlarged on display in the entrance.

Getting ready shot.

I love the windows in this place.
BLLLLLLLING!
This was an emotional picture of Lacey’s dad escorting her down the staircase to go hand her off to Tom.
First portrait of Husband & Wife!
Beautiful and yummy!
You just take one look at them and know that they are truly in love.
This was my little experiment for the night. I pulled Lacey & Tom aside for a couple minutes…put them in the artic-cold winter weather on one of the balconies and captured them in the moonlight. Pretty neat and well worth the shivering! Lacey & Tom, I hope Friday will remain in your memories as being one of the best days ever! Have fun on your honeymoon!

Booboo Update

Ok, I just had to share this. Remember the poor 5-year-old that got wacked in the face with a metal bat by his younger cousin about 5 minutes before we took pictures last Sunday….

Well, this is what he looked like on Wednesday. This pic was sent to me by his mom. Sooooo the first thing that comes to mind looking at this picture is “WOW, this kid only cried for 1 or 2 minutes. I would have cried for an hour!” The second thing I thought was “I’m glad it didn’t look this bad for pictures…I would have had to do some extreme editing.”

Grosdidier & Koehn Kids

Today I photographed the some of the coolest people I know…the Grosdidier & Koehn families. I think I was born into the wrong family and was meant to be in this one. 🙂 Definitely some of best characters I’ve ever met.
Before we got started on our photography adventure, we had a little accident…my fault really. I forgot to do a quick sweep of my house to ensure child safety (one of the kids was just a wee toodler). Right before taking pictures, Christian (the youngest) took a metal bat to his cousin’s face. OUCHIE!!! I reassured his mother I would be able to remove the gigantic purple lump from his portraits, but I just had to show off his battle wound. He is a tough kid.

Thank you Karen & Jason, Brent & Kim, Brandon & Charis, and all the your wonderful kids for making the trip all the way out here. It is always great to see you all, can’t wait til next time.
