Poor little guy…he wasn’t feeling well.  I personally think it’s sweet and beautiful to photograph families documentary style, and capture the “real life” aspects of the home.  Any parent knows full well the little kids are sick constantly.  Even though that’s not ideal for “family picture day”…and even though tired and puffy-eyed…I found this little darling to be absolutely adorable. 

See…ADORABLE!I especially love this picture.  Every year that I’ve photographed this lovely family, I always take a group picture of them on their front steps.  I think it’s neat to have one picture consistent and watch how a family has grown by looking at pictures over the years.  I’m a little obsessed with Charlie.  I always feel like he’s giving me “the look”.I always get so excited to photograph this family every year…not just because they are some of the most awesome people out there…but because we always do something super fun and out of the ordinary for a Holiday Card portrait.  This year I can’t take credit for the idea…this was their brilliance!  And one of the most perfect brilliance of all!  And MESSY!  But it was kid tested and parents approved.
This might be Golden’s happiest day of life so far.Every. Kid’s. Dream come true.…it’s also what drives parents to keep wine and liquor handy.
