Parkville | Magazine | Welcome to Parkville

I was asked to photograph the Parkville area for Northland Lifestyle Magazine’s May 2013 article “Welcome to Parkville”, and since it’s my home base…don’t mind if I do.  🙂  Of course when you photograph for any print publication, it needs to be done at least a month in advance…and its sort of amazing to look at just how much the trees and grass greened in that month.  Kind of a bummer, because downtown Parkville is such a BEAUTIFUL place, especially when it’s in bloom.

Kansas City | Wedding | Amy + Patrick

I am over the moon for Amy & Patrick…one of the most ridiculously fun and spontaneous couples I’ve ever met. I mean…you can get that from their mini engagement session I did earlier this year.  Any time I’m around them, I leave with sore cheeks from laughing.  As an added bonus…their wedding was at The Starlight Theatre AND we planned a trip with the wedding party to walk around the Kansas City Zoo before the ceremony.

Patrick….you are HILARIOUS!

I love the yellow camera off to the side…extra awesome for me.  🙂

If only there were a picture of Patrick pretending to push me in the water, HAHAHAHA!  My reaction was pure terror. 🙂

Parkville | Magazine | Peddlers Wagon

I grew up with my crafty mother always working on some kind of sewing project.  My siblings and I still tease her because she would start a project and it would take years and years to finish.  In fact, she JUST finished my sister’s (who is now 26) baby quilt about a year ago….so yeah…some projects take longer than others.  I can relate…as I think that bad habit has been slightly passed down to me….though I don’t take over 2 decades to finish, haha.  I’ve actually only made one small baby quilt, for my daughter, and it was a simple square quilt design…but I can see why quilting is such a popular craft.  Real quilters, hobbyists or pros, have mad skills and the designs are total works of arts….and Peddler’s Wagon is definitely the place to go for supplies.  They have EVERYTHING a quilter could want.  Check out the article that I photographed for Northland Lifestyle’s Magazine HERE.

Gladstone | Magazine | Kates Kitchen

A few years ago, a friend of mine asked me out to breakfast at Kates Kitchen.  I was in love at first bite!  Fast forward to a couple months ago and I was asked to photograph that same legendary Gladstone restaurant.  As if I wasn’t already hooked on the food, I discovered its a family owned business…and not just any family…a really really awesome and friendly Overland Park family.  In fact, they even named the restaurant after their daughter, who used to love playing around in her toy kitchen as a little girl.  Check out the magazine article I photographed for HERE.

Platte County | Magazine | The Platte Land Trust

I can’t help but think of the Joni Mitchell song, Big Yellow Taxi, when I met the founders of The Platte Land Trust.  I feel very nieve that I’d never put much thought into the beautiful nature areas surrounding my community, and just thought that they were a standard.  Little did I know that there’s a behind the scenes team that fights to make sure those areas are there and protected.  From parks, to trails, to just fields of natural brush.  Makes me want to go outside and breathe in the fresh air.  Check out the magazine article I photographed for HERE.
