Kansas City Engagement: Jen + Joe

Check out where Jen & Joe are having their wedding reception!  …Jealous?  Haha!  It just seemed fitting to have some photo-fun for the e-session.

Jen and Joe are KC natives but have migrated to the New York.  So, this was actually a perfect mix of locations to give them a more urban setting…from old home, to new home.YESSS!  THANK YOU WIND!!!  (of course, I cursed it a moment later when it knocked over my light stand and shattered a piece of my expensive gear!…but it was so worth it!)I would like to take this opportunity to say…I want her hair!  Really really bad.Don’t they look like a Hollywood couple?  …I guess that makes me the annoying paparazzi . 🙂I feel like a traitor to KC on account as I’ve never been to Town-Topic to eat….and I still haven’t, but their fountain drinks are a perfect combo of carbonation & syrup (I’m kind of a harsh critic).  I plan to go back and give their burgers a spin.HOW CUTE ARE THEY!!!!!!!!Joe told me that there used to be a lady who worked here with an old fashion beehive hair style…and when we asked the cooks, they said she STILL works there..and STILL has the hair!Jen…Joe…I love you guys!  I am soooooooo sooooo excited for the next few months to fly by.  🙂

Kansas City Baby: Mila at 6 Months

I had spur-of-the-moment babysitting duty last week…and while I had the Mila-Monster all to myself, I thought I’d take the opportunity to have a little photo-fun.  I definitely enjoy being an Aunt.  All the fun of the baby, AND I get to sleep all night after she leaves. 😉

So…just so that it’s made known…photographing a wobbly 6-month-old ALL by myself is no easy feat (pun totally intended).  I had to entertain using any methods possible.  HAHAHAHA

Kansas City Family: Fager Family

Another family I’m obsessed with…The Fagers.  Very very early in my career as a wedding photographer, I met Karen…and immediately fell in love with her and her ENTIRE family.  Karen’s sister, Kristin, was my very first Destination Bride (back in 2007).  Over the years, Karen & Kristin have definitely expanded their families, with the most ADORABLE children.  Naturally, I feel like I’m now their faux-adopted sister.  Take a look at these awesome images I snagged of my sista-from-anotha-motha and her fabulous hubby, Jake, and their two sweet children, Abby and Bella (…and I say “sweet” because I don’t hold it against Bella for going through some unpleasant teething this particular day, hahahahahahaha).

OH THOSE EYES!!!!!   This beauty is the MASTER of facial expression.  Wonder where she gets it from?  This one is her serious, model look.Here’s a few other ones…A special thank you to all parents of children I happen to photograph during “difficult” times.  🙂  I’m sure Kristin & Jake probably had a beer or two or three after this session. HAHAHAHA  …BUT SEE!!! They turned out pretty awesome!  Well worth it.

Kansas City Maternity: Ashley & Greg

If you’ve seen our website, this couple should look familiar.  “ASHLEY AND GREG…SITTING IN A TREE…K-I-S-S-I-N-G…FIRST COMES LOVE…THEN COMES MARRIAGE…THEN COMES BABY IN A BABY CARRIAGE.”  Ashley is currently, the most adorable pregnant woman on Earth!!!!  Greg’s not so bad either…he’s a handsome Daddy-t0-be.  🙂

This…is…them.  HAHAHAHA  This is why I love Greg & Ashley.  They are hilarious!!!!Ashley is an elementary school teacher…so I searched the grocery store for the most perfect red apple I could find.  It just seemed fitting.  🙂And then there’s the sentimental-ness.  Somethine old….…something new.  Baby Logan’s middle name will be Cliff, after his grandpa.  So sweet.Congrats Greg & Ashley!!!!!  I wish you a fantastic final month of pregnancy and healthy, happy baby (and lots of drugs during birth, haha).  🙂  Can’t wait to meet the newest Heins!

Kansas City Family: Patterson Family

It’s a crazy small world.  But you always remember and can relate to the place you “felt” like you were raised.   For Matt (the hubby), it is a small town in Arkansas.  His best friend was Adam….and it was..IS….a strong friendship.  One that can go dormant due to distance and chaos of normal life…but pick right back up the moment you pick up the phone.  I, actually, met Adam when Matt and I first started dating, some 12-13 years ago…and lets just say Adam is a character.  Unforgettable, always likeable & contagious…Adam.  Maybe it was the super-thick-hardly-understandable southern accent…but Adam could not possibly leave me without laughing, smiling, or totally confused-because-I-didn’t-know-what-he-just-said (most times Matt had to translate).  Fast forward 12  years….Matt now is married with kids…Adam is married with kids…and it’s a small small world. His daughter and our daughter, though 400 miles distant, are good friends already.  Crazy, right?  And awesome.  I present to you Adam and his amazing family with Adrianne (his super fabulous wife who, with much affection, is now my friend).

Adams girls and our Niki.  So funny.Yes…I admit…our daughter is responsible for this.  Actually, I should blame this on Aunt Lacey, who gave Niki the makeup kit for Christmas.  Let’s just say, only blue eye-shadow-up-to-the-eyebrows is cool when you are 7 yrs old. 🙂Yes….this happened. hahahahaha
