Stacey & Josh…til death do they part :)

Check out these two…total play-toys for me.  I had the unbelievable pleasure of photographing Stacey and Josh’s wedding back in May, which was a blast…and now to finalize the matrimony deed, we had ourselves a down and dirty “trash the dress” session…and Stacey trashed it…literally.      🙂

WOW!!!  THOSE EYES, RIGHT!

See what I mean?…DIRTY GIRL!   …yes, that really is a dumpster she’s sitting cozy in.

This was fun….oh yea, at this was taken at our second location…a graveyard.

Josh, Stacey…you are total characters and I’m so glad be the one to help display it.
I’ll scare ya later.   😉

CLASS of 2009…Lauren Sharp!!!!

Ladies and gentleman…make way for a fresh, new senior on the blog!!!!  Last week I got a call from Lauren’s mom to setup a session, and she scored cool-points with me by going above and beyond emailing me some pictures of her and giving me an accurate description of Lauren’s character.   Needless-to-say, we had a very custom session that fit Lauren perfectly!  Thanks Marti!

So, the wind was pretty gusty, but the wind really made the hair work for this picture.

Long lashes, big eyes, pouty lips….NOT FAIR, NOT FAIR!!!!

As I look at this picture of Lauren’s parents, I can’t help but think of that song that was super over-played on the radio a few months back… “I got it from my mama”….I have no idea what it’s actually named.

By the way, these were taken in her hometown in Lawson, MO.

ooooo….I like this purse.

Lauren and her two bros, George and Austin.

When asked what her hobbies were, hunting was right there at the top of the list.  So it was only fitting to have some “character” shots with her rifle.  How cute is this!!!!!

What good sports her brothers were!  🙂

And, in fact…the whole family is very close and they all hunt together.  So, here’s one just for them.  This turned out so neat…it almost looks like it belongs on the cover of a CD or something….my rock star family!

Christina & Joe & their babies :)

First I’d like mention how I nearly tore my steering-wheel off while trying to meet up with Christina & Joe for our 8am Saturday morning session.  Um…yeah, I got my butt out of bed early, like a good girl, filled up with coffee, and headed out on time (which is saying a lot of me for such an early shoot)…only to find myself stuck on the north side of the Plaza desperately trying to get to the south side of Brush Creek….FOR 45 AGONIZING MINUTES!!!!  When I decided to try and take a shortcut going through the downtown area to get to Loose Park, I was surprise to find a 26 mile marathon blocking every singe through road EVERYWHERE I tried to go.  It was almost equally shocking to find there are so many healthy, athletic people in the car-populated-Kansas City area.  There must have been thousands of runners…it was never ending.
Christina and Joe, thankfully, waited patiently and when I FINALLY got there, we had a terrific session.  I love these pictures!  Aren’t these dog adorable?!

MAJOR cool points to Joe for this stunt!

Thanks Christina & Joe for waiting on me.  Shauna and I had a really good time with you.

Neighbor Kids

My neighbors are really cool people, but not exactly picture fanatics like me.  For the few years I’ve lived behind them, I have suspected that they really don’t know what exactly it is that I do (kickass portraits…sorry to brag).  They called me one night last week and said they had a little picture that they wanted to know if I knew how to scan and print larger.  They were making some “fan” signs to hold in the bleachers (I think) for his homecoming game, and wanted to put a picture of Cole (the cute little football star).  I told them I could do one better…and decided to drop in and snap a few new ones for them.  Really cool, eh?!

A couple days later, I got a call from Maddison (the cute little cheerleader) and pretty much said the same thing.  She had a little 4×6 snapshot that she wanted to know if I could digitally take out cars and people in the background.  So off we went on another little mini-session.  By the way, Maddison has got to be the most mature and sweetest little girl I’ve EVER known.

If I didn’t have to work, I would have loved to go to their game and cheer them on myself.

Kylie & Jarred are getting married!!!

I’ve actually known Kylie for over a year now.  She’s been a bridesmaid in two of my past weddings…the first being the one in Mexico last year.  The first thing that I noticed about her was her smile.  She’s got a beautiful one!  A couple months ago she gave me a call and told me not only we she engaged, but they were planning their destination wedding for Puerto Rico and they wanted me to photograph it.  WAHOOOOOOOO!  Just thinking about it right now makes me want to go find my suitcase. 🙂

This was new location for me.  I’ve driven past it a couple times but didn’t know what the heck it was and could never remember how to find it.  In fact, when I was in that area on Saturday, I spent about 20 minutes trying to find it just so I could take Kylie and Jarred there.  I’m glad I did.

Poor Jarred.  This was the first time to meet eachother…and of course it had to be early in the morning after a fun night of partying.  Nothing like have a camera stuck in your face at 9am on a Sunday morning.  HA!  He definitely got his exercise!  He did very well…I’m impressed. 🙂

So…there we are in the plaza…about to go walk around and scout out some spots…when Jarred surprised me with the fact that his office was just a couple streets over.  He’s a doctor and made a comment of how we could do pictures there if we wanted.  HECK YEAH!  So off we went.  Kylie played “the sexy patient” and Jarred played “the handsome doctor”.  My job is way too fun.

You have noooo idea what we went through to get this shot setup.  Kylie, I hope your lips were alright later on. 🙂

We were on our way out the door and walked past the office area.  I immediately thought of the library scene from Ghostbusters…I had to get a shot.

I think I’m a little obsessed with Kylie’s ring.  It’s really purdy

Thanks Jarred & Kylie for letting me boss you around so early in the morning!  Can’t wait for Puerto Rico!!!!
