Kansas City Weddings: An Enchanted Wedding

Last week, I was able to “wedding crash” one of Sarah Rimel’s weddings.  🙂 and I’m sooooo glad I did.  Please check out Sarah Rimel’s blog to see more from the entire wedding day.Sarah tried to put into words the original plans of the reception…but no words prepared me for walking into Sonya & Justin’s Enchanted reception…UNBELIEVABLE!!!  How excited was I to run into the mastermind behind it all…Ashley Hokta of Good Earth Floral!!!  I have never seen a reception quite as amazing.  She really went above and beyond.

Sneaking a shot of the Fabulous Sarah Rimel.

And some more familiar faces…in addition to Good Earth Floral, Jen Fyffe’s crew of Savvy Wedding & Event Planning was also there keeping the events perfect and on-time.

Can you believe this is the Cake?  Even the tree branches/leaves are eatable!  It was almost too beautiful to eat…I said ALMOST.  I had a piece, and it was amazingly delicious, too!  Doesn’t seem possible to be crazy-creative-beautiful AND tasty, does it?  BUT as I live and breath…it WAS! 🙂

As an awesome surprise to the guests, they had a super special group of storm troopers protect them from Darth Vader on their entrance into the party.  These guys were a key ingredient to such an fun night.  Check ’em out in case you have any future event needs: www.149thwarwolves.com

Here’s one of the kiddos playing one of my old time FAVORITES, Duck duck GOOSE!

And what happens when the sun goes down on such an evening as this one?  Fierce night battle between photographers, DUH.

And what do ya know…it’s contagious to newlyweds as well. 🙂

Shooting Sonya, Justin, their amazing family/friends, Darth & the Storm Troopers, and of course shooting with Sarah…was all a night I will always remember.  I had a blast!

Baldwin City Weddings: Janice + Robert

Pure and utter happiness.  This wedding was pure and utter happiness.  Janice and Robert were 100% relaxed and happy…it was an absolute blast to photograph.

Janice and Robert were playful and fun subjects to feed to the camera!

I had a particularly short little stalker following me around….but he was pretty cute, so I didn’t mind. 🙂

And I had to include one of Larissa and Brent, who are expecting greatness in just a few short weeks!!!  I see a lot of PINK in their future.  🙂

I shot their wedding in June 2007 and we just keep running into each other at weddings. 🙂  That particular wedding as a given…because Janice is Larissa’s mom.

Stony Point Hall is always such a nice, stress-free place for a wedding.  The owners do such a terrific job of making sure their clients are well taken care of.

Congratulations Janice & Robert!!!!  You’re definitely off to a great start!

Sedalia Engagement: Jacqueline + Greg

A bright and early road trip to Sedalia brought us to a fabulous couple who live in THE CUTEST old house we’ve ever visited.  It completely reminded me of the cool house in the movie Zathura.  Jacqueline, our official tour guide of home and city of Sedalia, gave us a tour of her home when we first got there…and it was crazy how it just seemed to keep going and going…like a Mary-Poppin’s house (instead of purse).   And once we got to the old “servant’s level” of the house, Matt and I decided we could definitely just move in and fill that space. 🙂

And we have to give Saddie some blog action.  Sweet doggie!

As if their home wasn’t cute enough, there were little Gnomes sprinkled about.  Gnomes make for cheerful additions to any home.

Kansas City Family Portraits: Gast Family +

We originally planned on gathering up this big beautiful family on Wednesday for a portrait session…but Mother Nature was whippin’ out tornados and storms everywhere.  So, we pushed it back to Friday.  🙂 Much better…although we did get a bit sprinkled on.

It was great seeing Mike, Michelle, Katelyn, and Luke again…and meeting their extended family, too!
