Ashley & Greg’s Wedding: Part 1

Friends of ours, Ashley & Greg, have been dating for pretty much ever (9 years, I think), and finally the day has come….WEDDING DAY!!!!  WHOOP WHOOOPP!

An emotional first meet…(Sorry again, Ashley:)

I’m in love with this shot.  Greg & Ashley, darlings…you’re smashing!

These next two shots where just random bloopers that I happened to crack up to when I ran across them.  Had to add some extra-special humor to the teasers. 😉

whoa…and yea…no body told me my hair was so out of control.  THANKS A LOT everyone who saw me and remained silent! hahahahaha

Ohhhhh yessssss, Ashley is one hot tamale!!!!!!!!   …Greg, you’re handsome, too..but Ashley takes the stage for this shot, for sure!…and she only had to break her straps to make it happen.

I was so proud of myself, having come up with a brilliant timeline/schedule for the wedding day.  Had some concept shots planned, new locations…but didn’t quite expect the torrential downpour that Mother Nature provided immediately upon setting out for fabulous-photo-time. …plus we were running a bit behind, so we skipped ahead to Winstead’s for a little snack and to wait out the rain.  …but as luck should have it…the rain outlasted our wait.  So we had some fun-photo-time in Winstead’s.

I had just finished taking a shot of Ashley at the alter…and she asked for a shot of Greg up there, too… so he went and stood just like Ashley had…showing off his “good-side”. hahaahahaha  Hilarious!

We always try to create an unique ring shot that is somehow related to the Bride & Groom.  …This one is all about Greg, for Ashley’s entertainment.  Apparently Greg doesn’t like bags under his eyes (there are pictures to prove it), so he likes to put cucumbers on his eyes.

Pooja + Brandon = Exotic Wedding Explosion!!!

Where to begin?!  This day was jam packed with awesome colors, clothes, styles, people, events, traditions, music, emotions…hard to believe it all fit into one day.  I know I say this alot…but I had an extra hard time picking out blog teasers for this one….so prepare yourself for a long post. 🙂

Ok…take a moment and count how many guys you see in this image. …

Now count how many guys you see in this image…hahahaha.  Look closely…

Brandon warned me way ahead of time that not only were there going to be 9 groomsmen, but that they were all extreme characters.  He didn’t let me down.  I had myself a very hard laugh during the process of taking individual shots of them…this was captured by my friend Kevin Hengler, from 49th Street Photography, while I was wiping the tears from my eyes from laughing so hard.  Kevin caught the image of the exact moment that one of the groomsmen gave another a super extreme spanking.  You can’t really tell from the image just how hard that love tap was, but then Kevin happened to catch a following image of that spanker examining his aching hand afterward.  Thanks Kevin for helping capture the priceless moments. 🙂

What can I say…I had some fierce competition that day.  🙂

Let the party begin…

With the time crunch, I stayed with Pooja to get some shots of her while she was relaxed and fresh…so I also happened to get a view from above of Brandon on his fantastic horse at the same time Matt was getting his shot from below.

Someone’s peeking…

…and with a hot guy on a horse in sight, who can blame her! :)))

Brandon, did I tell you I was proud of you for not falling off?  ..well, I am.  Well played, my friend.

And just in case you’re wondering…no, squeezing the grooms nose is not part of the tradition.  That’s just Pooja’s mother’s way of welcoming him to the fam. hahaha

As attending my first Indian wedding, I was fascinated with the whole process.  The ceremony begins with the Groom being escorted by the Bride’s father, and continues for a while before the Bride enters into the ceremony.

Girls VS Guys…

The reception switched the celebrations into American mode, with Pooja in a stunning bridal gown, and Brandon handsome in his tux.  They played this funny game using their shoes to answer questions, showing just how well they know each other.  Humm…looks like they disagreed for this one… 😉

Elegant first dance.

…then time to break out the hotness…

The reception was at the Rooftop Ballroom of the InterContinental Hotel, and had an awesome view of the plaza.

Words cannot describe the awesomeness that was this wedding.  We had a terrific time and hope that the teasers get everyone excited to see MUCH more photo goodness.  Congrats Pooja & Brandon!!!!

Mr. & Mrs. Wonderful…married at last.

A few days before the wedding I was chatting with Marc (aka: Groom) and I happened to notice his middle initial was “W”.  Why…I don’t know…but I was curious as to what it stood for….so I asked.  He instantly replied “Wonderful”.  hahaha  Thus he will always be Mr. Wonderful to me….well, and of course Erin calls him that on a daily basis (right, Erin?).  :)))

Bright and early the beautification process begins.  Isn’t Erin so lovely in the first picture?

Ah man!  All out!

Abso-freaking-lutely stunning!

They think so too… 🙂

Can I just say how awesome being at this wedding was?!  The church was beautiful, the couple was adorable, the bridal party was plentiful…and it was like my own little reunion with some old clients.  I got to see two former Brides & Grooms (Alex & Dorothy, Trent & Jana), and a “regular”(I’ve had the privilege of photographing Tyler and his family twice a year for 4 or 5 years now).  I LOVE IT!

Actually this picture doesn’t do it justice, but when I went to go find Marc & Erin after the ceremony, I found this little guy wiggling his tooth.  That sucker was super ready to come out.  He told me that last time he lost a tooth, the Tooth Fairy left him $3!!!  Man!  My daughter is getting ripped off! haha

Don’t look now, but there’s a creepy chic with a camera right behind you!!!  I swear…the nerve of some people…can’t you just kiss in public anymore without someone snapping shots.

RRRAAARRRRRRR!

Ok, and I’ve got to give mention to the fantastic candy bar Erin made.  With all the bright, bold colors, and of course many favorite treats, it had everyone’s mouth watering.

And what wedding would be complete without a super-kick-ass-fabulous-marvelous-creative wedding party group shot?  Ok…so…this was a LOOOOOOOT of work….gathering people, placing people, replacing people, lighting people…then at the computer photoshoping people in and out…I’m exhausted even thinking about it.  …but I do love to look at it.  Soo soooo awesome.  Thank you to EVERYONE involved in this picture.  I know it took a while…but it was for a good cause.  🙂

Erin & Marc…excuse me…Mr. & Mrs. Wonderful… you had a wonderful wedding and I was delighted to be a part of it.  Enjoy your wonderful teasers!  More wonderfulness to come.  :)))

Good Morning with Chris & Caley

Chris & Caley’s engagement session has been bumped around a bit…we had finally settled on last Thursday at 6:30p.  But at around 4p on Thursday, I was watching the weather on TV and the meteorologist said 104 degree and that was it.  TOOOO HOT.  Lucky for me, Chris and Caley are morning folk…it was rough, but Matt and I rolled out of bed, pumped ourselves full of coffee, and met up with them early on Father’s Day.  Perfect time too…the light was awesome, the air quality was comfortable, and the city was bare.  I’ve said it before, and I’ll keep saying it …I wish I were a morning person and did all my shooting during the early morning after sunrise.

Chris & Caley are getting married on the famous 10-10-10.  WAHOOOO!!!!  Had to get the “Spirit Fingers” out and in action!

So Caley asks, “Where are we going?” and I reply “Ummm…well, I’ve been there before, but I don’t know where it is.”  Such tends to be a normal reply when speaking of a new spot.  A couple months ago, I was lost (also normal) and saw this big bare blue wall downtown.  Of course I looked at the street signs and told myself “Don’t forget the street names”…and of course, I did.   I’m just glad we found it again.  A friend of mine stopped by when I was working on these images and said…”That’s a cool shot.  Where was that lake?”  …on second look, I realize that when the image isn’t blown up big on the screen, it looks like they are standing in front of some pretty blue water.  Neat!

Matt always knows how to capture my good side in action. (Thanks honey…)

Yup…Chris was super awake.  His body needed lots of oxygen (inside joke).

I stared at this picture for a while trying to remember what was going on here…but all I can think about is “pull my finger”.  (What were you doing Caley? Remind me)

Oh-so-pretty Caley!  I love her eyes!  They sort of match the tile.

Hey good lookin’!  I liked this picture because he resembles Chris O’Donnell here…and I’ve had a secret crush on him since I saw the movie “The Bachelor”.

Caley told me a while back that she had this idea to use their bodies to make 10-10-10…awesome idea…hard to pull off.  I think we killed at least 15 minutes attempting to make a Zero with our bodies standing up before we resorted to laying in the grass.  hahahahahahaha  It was funny trying though.  E for Effort!
