Mike + Michelle + Katelyn = Loving Thoughts

I can hardly believe it’s been a year already since I last saw this family…Katelyn is definitely not teeny-tiny anymore…she’s mobile and give her parents some exercise.  🙂  Michelle had contacted me to do an updated family session, now that Katelyn’s a year old, but also because Mike is being deployed to Africa for a year….which breaks my heart.  Especially since Michelle is due with their second baby in September.  It’s a hard thing to do to say good-bye to your family…and even harder when you know it will be soooo long before they see each other again, so I’m hoping these pictures keep their memories near at heart.

Check out her two teeth. 🙂

I did mention she was mobile, didn’t I? hahahahaI still have no idea what these crazy, tall things coming out of the pond are, but they were awesome for this shot.

BooYAH!  I got a perfect shot, everyone looking, everyone smiling…PERFECTO!  I LOVE IT!

Katelyn is OBSESSED with her daddy’s head…it was so funny.  Mike…best wishes for Africa.  Maybe I’ll get to see you in September when your new baby boy arrives.  Congrats on #2.  Second rounds always a little easier….well, I take that back.  My daughter crushes that statement.  hahahaha

Megan + Casey + Tyler….& RED!

In a recent email, Megan told me “Red” was not yet sitting on her own yet but working on it.  “Red” ?  I was curious about the new nickname for Ryan…that is, until I walked in their door and saw her beautiful hair.  RED.  Totally fitting.  She was ALL smiles for our session. (Happy baby = Happy photographer)

If she wasn’t already “Red”, I would nickname her “Happy Feet”…she just was so happy and excited all the time…and those little legs and feet were all over the place.  Made me miss my babies…they aren’t babies anymore.  They’re GINORMOUS!

I totally missed this moment…didn’t even see big Brother Tyler acting all silly.  Luckily Matt caught the future-embarrassing picture.  This is one to save for his high school graduation. :)))

He is such a sweeeeeeet big brother.

I love both the expressions the kiddos are making.  These kinds of pictures are my favorite. 🙂

…and another…Tyler taking a whif and Red with her finger to her nose…PUUUWWWEEEE hahahahahaha

…what can ya do…she’s to small to fight it. hehe

Sooo…I’m not to big to admit when I’m wrong.  “Hey everyone, lay on the grass and look up at me!  It will make an awesome picture!”  ….hahahahahahahaha  FAIL  …but it’s a funny fail. 🙂   (BTW, good attempt Casey) I love this family so much.  Does it sound too sappy to say that I really feel honored to be a part of documenting their growing family?  Maybe, but there it is.  I said it.

Matt + Shannon + Wedding = SUPER HOTTNESS

I have been so excited for Matt and Shannon’s wedding for so long…and the day has finally come…along with the super humid, hot summer.  Better than an all-day rainy day, I say.  🙂  Here’s some of my favorites from the day.

So fresh and so clean, clean…

It was seriously 1am before we got back and started uploading pictures…but Matt (my Matt) and I stayed up till 2:30a picking out blog pics…one of which Matt was hoovering over my shoulder saying “Did you get the card Matt gave Shannon? Did ya? Did ya? Did ya?”  …yes, honey….

Did I mention there were really awesome bubble-blowers?  …maybe too good, hahahahahahahahahaha  We snagged some awesome bubble shots, but since Matt (Shannon’s Matt) was so comical, I opted for these ones to post. hahahahaha

We were a little rushed for time…but I am SOOOOOO glad we accomplished this one.  So funny!

Stick a fork in their dating..because it’s done.  Welcome to marriedville!

GO SHANNON! GO SHANNON!  IT’S YOUR WEDDING!  BOOGIE DOWN!

I think they are thinking…”LOVE!”

Their reception was at the awesome 2000 Grand.  I love that place for all it’s character and super perfect location.  Thanks Matt and Shannon for being the super, fantastic, lovely, funny, gorgeous, affectionate couple that you are.  Have fun in Jamaica!  Take loads of pictures!

Lindsey + Logan + Navy Goodness= Photo Fantastico!

Lindsey contacted me a couple weeks ago and said she had seen some of my fun pictures and thought it would be fun to do just a casual/creative portrait session with her boyfriend, Logan…just because.  They were only going to be in town for a couple days before returning to their Navy jobs in Virginia….so I think we were all a bit bummed when it was crappy weather Sunday night.  Luckily, they were able to meet up at noon on Monday in Parkville for some photo-awesomeness…and let me tell ya, they WORKED for it!  IT was sooooooooo HOT HOT HOOOOOOTT and SUNNNNNNNY…but they brought a sweat towel and their good humor.

HAHAHAHAHAHA  I love these next two.  Shows off how they are with each other.  :))))

When I asked Logan, “How high can you jump?”…there was almost ZERO pause before his answer..”Really high.”  And he could. 🙂

I love this picture.

Lindsey, you are SOOOOOOOO PURDY!  I’m envious of your eyes.

This was done in front of a very busy street….and I’m sure we got some rubber-neckers when they were goofing off in the reflections.  hahahahahaha

Logan, your smile is infectious!  I love this shot Matt took…he’s probably laughing at the crazy chic-photographer in front of him….asking him to do all sorts of weirdness.

So…after sweating and cooking in the sun…time for round two.  They put on their Navy camo lickity-split and we did a few shots.  This has got to be one of my favorite multi-body shots of all time.  Their strong soldier appearance against the American Flag wall…and it was even on Memorial Day….it will always be one of my favorite pictures I’ve ever put together.  So glad we were able to pull it off.

Congrats Jackie & Chris!!!

I had the opportunity to second shoot with Gregg Hejna again and had another lovely couple in my camera.  Jackie & Chris were sooo cute!  And OH MY, the dress was gorgeous!!!!!

During the reception, I ran out to my car to grab some of my gear…and lo-and-behold…I see this beautiful evening sky!  Yup…had to go grab the Bride & Groom…
